HANDS-ON-WORK (H.O.W.) PROGRAM

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM?

H.O.W. is open to high school students and graduates which can be used for community hours required for graduation.

Individuals or in partnership with YES Employment, NEW, March of Dimes, and other employment services, CCA provides job mentoring, workshops and job placements for teenagers and adults through H.O.W.

HOW DOES THE PROGRAM HELP THE PARTICIPANTS?

H.O.W. encourages lifelong learning and fosters a commitment to professional and personal development by providing a safe, positive, and relaxed environment to develop marketable skills.

HOW DOES CCA EVALUATE PARTICIPANTS?

H.O.W. participants are assigned a team mentor who teaches the participant, everything they need to know to succeed at their assigned tasks. Halfway through and again at the end of the program duration, team mentors will evaluate: attitude, quality of customer service, and work ethic. This evaluation will help identify key areas the participant should improve upon to succeed in workplaces beyond Community Clothing Assistance. Successful participants receive a reference letter.
